9 Panthers Vs Wakefield City

Martin Inman

Credit to all the players and both teams for an entertaining 10-goal spectacle on a cold Sunday morning!

It was a match packed with action, quality finishing and plenty of determination, as the team battled hard against Wakefield City in an entertaining contest full of talking points.

There were some excellent attacking moments throughout the game, with Rory’s spectacular opener as his strike rattled in the top of the goal. Chase then produced a moment of real quality, connecting brilliantly with a half-volley that looped over the goalkeeper in a superb finish.

Wakefield City responded with goals of their own, making the team work hard at both ends of the pitch. Despite the pressure, there were plenty of positives to take from the team’s attacking intent, resilience and individual performances.

Rory got himself on the scoresheet again with a well-taken goal after some excellent work from Logan, who showed great determination and skill to dribble his way forward and create the opportunity.

Logan was involved again in another memorable moment, battling hard for possession in opposition box before Silas attempted to pounce on the loose ball ahead of the defender, but last touch resulted in an own goal to put siltington on level terms.

Silas, however, would have the final say in the team’s attacking highlights. Showing fantastic pace, confidence and close control, he broke free and dribbled through the Wakefield City defenders before keeping his composure to finish clinically. It was a brilliant individual goal that showcased his attacking quality.

Wakefield City continued to find the net, with the final goal of the game arriving with the very last kick — a cruel ending to a match in which the team had shown plenty of attacking promise and individual quality.

Theodore had an excellent first half in goal, making some good saves and distributed the ball well, helping the team build from the back. After the break, he moved into the centre of the pitch and showed another side to his game, producing some wonderful passes and demonstrating his vision and range of distribution.

Cole started the match in defence and contributed impressively to the team’s attacking play. His passing was a particular highlight, regularly finding ways through Wakefield City’s attacking line to help launch forward moves. In the second half, he took over in goal and pulled off some good saves, showing his versatility and willingness to help the team wherever needed.

Myles worked tirelessly throughout the first half, constantly bombing up and down the wing and providing energy on both sides of the ball. Later dropping into defence, he produced some outstanding last-ditch tackles, showing excellent commitment and determination to prevent further chances.

Logan deserves credit for his battling work and willingness to take on defenders. His dribbling helped create Rory’s goal, while his determination to win possession was also evident in the unfortunate own-goal incident.

Rory had an impressive performance in front of goal, showing his ability to strike the ball with power and precision. His spectacular strike into the top of the goal was a real highlight, demonstrating excellent technique and confidence when taking on the shot. His ability to turn promising moments into goals was a major positive to take from the game.

Chase produced one of the standout moments of the match with a superb half-volley that looped beautifully over the goalkeeper and into the goal. The strike showed his confidence in front of goal and his ability to execute a difficult finish under pressure.
