A delightful morning for the first Sunday in October, the sun was shining and the Pumas were ready to go!
West End Park got us underway, but the Pumas started with a strong press and it didn’t take long for that pressure to pay off, finding the first goal of the game.
From there, the boys kept their form, worked well together and played some good football, giving West End very little opportunity to cause us problems.
Into the second half though, and the Pumas didn’t quite come out with the same desire we’d seen in the first half. West End took advantage and soon found an equaliser. They began putting together some better passes and suddenly we were having to work much harder. Matas and Ralph both battled really well, while Josh in the middle continued his consistently strong performance.
A few position changes seemed to give our boys the boost they needed. The communication picked up, the passing started flowing again and the Pumas were back in the game.
We then won a couple of corners — something the boys have been specifically working on in training — and the practice paid off!
It’s always great to see things we work on during the week coming together on a Sunday.
Another great effort from the whole team. There were moments today where we had to regroup, work harder and find that desire again — and the boys did exactly that.
** PLAYER OF THE MATCH – JOSH **
Another excellent performance in the middle and thoroughly deserved.
Well done, Pumas!
