Today we travelled to Bradford Park Avenue for our first match in the new fixtures. Not quite knowing what standard to expect, the boys arrived full of enthusiasm, warming up with plenty of energy and eagerness, ready for the challenge ahead.
And what an impressive setup! Getting the opportunity to play in a stadium made today's game that little bit more special.
The Pumas got us underway and started well, although the pace of the game on Astro was certainly quick!
Just six minutes in and we found the back of the net to score the opening goal!
From there, it was a real end-to-end battle. Both teams were creating opportunities and winning plenty of corners, but neither could find that finishing touch.
The Pumas gradually settled into the pace, putting together some lovely passes, communicating well and showing some strong defending when called upon.
Into the second half and Bradford Park Avenue came back fighting, putting the Pumas under pressure and eventually earning themselves a penalty, which they converted.
The boys didn't let their heads drop. They stood up to the challenge, battled for each other and continued playing their football against strong opposition.
And that's what made today's performance so pleasing to watch.
The progress this team is making week after week is fantastic to see. The passing, communication, teamwork and determination are all coming together.
Plenty more challenges ahead, plenty more to learn, but most importantly, a group of boys who are growing in confidence and enjoying their football together.
Brilliant effort today, Pumas! Keep believing, keep working and keep showing that desire!
